Facebook
We have a group on Facebook. Look for photos posted in Mackay Rod & Custom Car Club
Thanks to Adam Homes for running this group.
The club is looking to audit club members on club’s rego to see if you are an active member attending shows. We also spoke about club rego; Do people join the club for their cars, or just to get the club rego? It is noticed that as soon as they are voted in, they want club rego and some you don’t see again, nor do they attend many meetings and shows.
Do we change the construction, where new voted in must be a club member for 12 months before they can get a club rego. Have your say at next meeting or via email or phone.
Our Constitution now on this is;
1) Attend a minimum of 3 monthly meetings per calendar year (apologies are not accepted as attendance) or
2) Promote the club at their functions throughout the calendar year
Functions can include;
a) Car shows
b) Swap meets
c) Events where the promotion of the club is achieved
The club is to check on all members who are on club rego, to see if you are financial member or attend 3 meetings so you can keep your club rego.
Regular club runs
Regular club runs are held by interested members every Sunday, leaving Langford’s hotel at 10am.
Destination decided on the day by willing participants, whether it is 1 car or 100.
This week we had 4 cars, we did a run through North Mackay, followed by a coffee at the botanic gardens.
Congratulations to the few who can drive their cars. Note that the only non-ford product was a Commodore, perhaps the others need a push start? If necessary, the regular members can carry a tow rope to assist our Holden and Chev driving members.
This is an old photo, but you get the idea.
